I ran into John Mcginnis at the Chicago Grand Tournament on saturday, and thought his army was really cool and needed to have it's own army profile! As noted, John plays orks, but that's not the cool part. The cool stuff is the insane amount of conversion work that went into this army, using some rather odd stuff. Take a look and marvel at the resourcefulness of the orks! 08/11/08
Besides having the coolest Mustache EVER, Allen also has a pretty cool Space Marine Army! They are called the "Army of One." So Allen first thought up the idea when he was playing around with the game Flames of War. He thought it might be cool to paint up a scout in the colors of the American army, and he liked it so much he did an entire squad! From there Allen decided that he had to make an entire army, using the same olive drab color scheme and lots and lots of little white stars. Most of the models are the standard ones, but Allen has a few cool conversions, the buggy being one of the neatest! He is also currently working on a crazy cool librarian, but since it is in the middle of paint, you will have to wait until another day to see it. Until then, check out Allen's army, and drop him a line if you'd like a game! Allen's a ton of fun to play, and all around great guy. 07/10/08
Zach Reid obviously has a thing for history, whether it be on the battlefield of WWII or the OOP miniatures that can only be found on EBAY. He has done a good job of finding old and unique pieces to make his army stand out. Here's a little of what he had to say about his orks: "The theme was of course taken from ww2 but i had also gotten i few of the older models and loved the way they looked so decided to make a whole army of similar looking models. As of now there is no named heroes. I am always working or new and unusual models." I hope we get to see some more in the future! |
